Discover Hoosier Grove Park

Hoosier Grove Park sits on 17.1 acres of land, located at 700 W Irving Park Road.

Hoosier Grove Park features fun for the whole family with three soccer fields, a baseball/softball field, a sand volleyball court, and a playground. Other amenities include a gazebo with picnic benches and public restrooms.

This historic park dates back to 1888 when it was home to the Landmeier dairy farm. Hoosier Grove Park is now home to the award-winning wedding and event venue, Hoosier Grove Barn, a one-room schoolhouse, the Hoosier Grove Museum, and other outbuildings that were acquired by the park district in 1988.

What’s In A Name?

In 1835, settlers were arriving in the Hanover area to begin farms. Most of the settlers came from New England or New York State, but one group came from Indiana – commonly known as Hoosiers. The farmland of the Indiana settlers became known as Hoosier Grove, which was the predecessor to Streamwood. The land of Hoosier Grove Park was purchased and named to preserve agricultural history.
