Challenger 7 South Park sits on 9.88 acres of land, located at 1011 Sunnydale Boulevard. This park was renovated in 2017 and offers a new, one-of-a-kind playground. There is also a shelter and picnic tables for your enjoyment.
What’s in a name?
Both Challenger 7 Parks are dedicated to the memory of the seven astronaut lives that were lost in the 51-L Space Shuttle Challenger mission. The dedication ceremony (for Challenger 7 North Park) was held on Sunday, September 7, 1986. The original name for Challenger 7 South Park was Shagbark Park.
