Splash Pad Update

The splash pad will be closed until further notice.

UPDATED TUESDAY, AUGUST 3, 2021

We, unfortunately, have a new underground leak. Below is a summary of the situation:

  • The rainwater diverter valve was replaced.
  • Two new concrete vaults were installed to help accelerate future valve maintenance needs. Soon after, the pump broke. This week a new pump was installed.
  • Less than two hours after opening the splash pad this week, a new underground leak was detected. Park District staff and contractors have been working tirelessly to locate the leak(s).
  • As of the afternoon on Friday, 7/23/21, we believe to have isolated the leak. After a few more tests, this should be repaired early next week.

We apologize for the inconvenience. We were really excited to re-open the splash pad, and are frustrated to have to close it down again. We are taking all the necessary steps to get it back up and running as soon as possible.  Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.
