The Streamwood Park District reminds you, while out and about in our parks residents may encounter bees or wasp nests. If you do encounter a nest or a swarm of bees in our parks, we encourage you to call our Parks Hotline at (630) 483-3134 to report the problem.

Occasionally our parks crews receive calls about bees in play sand, volleyball courts, or ballfields. Most of the time they are either burrowing bees or sand wasps, which are harmless to humans. The life cycle of these bees starts in July and usually lasts 4-6 weeks. Learn more about burrowing bees and sand wasps in the graphic above.
